Bridget Ossmann Bio
Bridget Eaton Ossmann was born in Hamilton, grew up in Fairfield, Ohio and graduated from Miami University and holds a Masters Degree in Education. Bridget has had 45 years of multi-faceted experience in music and theatre: writing, musical composition, directing, and performing; as well as scene design, light, and sound.
She wrote a full length comedy with music called “Teachers Left Behind” which was preformed at Miami University Hamilton as a workshop piece. The play was chosen by Cincinnati Playwrights Initiative to be a part of their “New Voices” series and was performed at the Arronoff Fifth Third Bank Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Several of Ossmann’s plays from her “Boxers or Briefs? Plays in Shorts” collection have been chosen by Miami University “Miami Writes” workshop to be performed in staged readings.
Ossmann has had many readings while working with the Ohio Playwrights Circle through The Human Race Theatre in Dayton, Ohio.
Ossmann’s play about Alzheimer’s, “Words in the Air” was performed by the Fairfield Footlighters at the Fairfield Community Arts Center in 2015 and received an Orchid Award.
Her most recent piece, “Purple Paint,” is a work of passion for the people of Appalachia and their descendants. Ossmann’s hope is to have this work published in honor of the strength of the Appalachian people raised in the coal mines of West Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee and as a tribute to her mother Ercel Eaton.
Her newest venture is an actors/playwrights cooperative called “naked plays.” This group creates a forum for playwrights and actors to work together…
“Providing Playwrights and Actors a Venue to Bare It All.”
